Phyllis Treby Hentz May 15, 1952 - January 13, 2022

Phyllis T. Hentz, 69, formerly of Allentown, passed away January 13 at Berks Heim Nursing and Rehabilitation in Leesport, PA.

Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of Serena L. Treby and the late Frederick E. Treby. She was a graduate of Dieruff High School, Allentown, and attended Moravian College, Bethlehem. Phyllis was a published composer and arranger, an accomplished handbell clinician, the Music Director for Schulmerich Carillons, Inc. in Sellersville, PA, and the Director of Handbells at Asbury United Methodist Church, South Whitehall Township for 30 years, where she was a faithful member.

Along with her strong faith and music passion, she was devoted to her family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them as well as her cat.

Survivors: Mother, Serena L. Treby; Son: Matthew C. Hentz and his husband Dale Kuhns II of Emmaus; Daughter: Kelly A. Stephenson and her husband Jason M. Stephenson of Wernersville; Grandson: Tyson L. Stephenson. Phyllis was predeceased by her father Frederick E. Treby.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:30 P.M. on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at Asbury U.M. Church, 1533 Springhouse Rd., Allentown 18104.  Friends and family may call from 2:30 – 3:30 P.M. in the church. Arrangements by Stephens Funeral Home, Inc. www.stephensfuneral.com
