Richard J. Holben, Sr. January 7, 1938 - November 6, 2025

Richard J. “Dick” Holben, Sr., 87, of Mechanicsburg, passed Thursday, November 6, 2025. He and his beloved wife, Jeanne E. (Miller), celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary in October. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Kathryn A. (Peterson) and Roy Holben. He was a graduate of Allentown High School and was an Army veteran. Dick was employed as a press room supervisor at The Morning Call for 35 years before retiring in 1993. After retirement, he was employed at Air Products in the mail center. He enjoyed bowling and music and played the piano. He regularly joined friends for breakfast.

Survivors: wife; sons, Richard, Jr., Mechanicsburg, Douglas A. and wife, Phyllis R., Macungie; granddaughter, Olivia Katherine; brothers, James Gehris and wife, Cindy, William Gehris and wife, Lynda, Charles Gehris and wife, Ellen; sister, Margaret Campbell; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother, Ronald, sister, Gloria Mathews, and brother-in-law, John Campbell.

Services: 1:30 PM Friday, November 21st, at HEINTZELMAN – STEPHENS FUNERAL HOME, P. C., 274 N. Krocks Rd., Allentown. Call 12:30 until service time. Interment will be in Cedar Church Cemetery. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, to charity of choice.
