Richard K. Thompson March 21, 1947 - April 21, 2025

Richard K. ”Rick” Thompson, 78, of L. Macungie Twp., passed away in his home Monday, April 21, 2025. Born March 21, 1947, in Staten Island NY, where he spent the first 22 years of his life, he was a son of the late Doris M. (Alston) and James R. Thompson. He lived longer than he thought since his father and two brothers did not live beyond their 50’s. Rick graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School and School of Visual Arts in Manhattan. Employed at Mack Trucks, Inc., which was a great love of his, he began as an illustrator and retired, after 30 years, as the manager of the illustration department where he was responsible for the production of its technical manuals. He was deeply involved in community organizations. He was on the executive board of BSA Minsi Trails Council and the board of the Pennsylvania affiliate of American Diabetes Association. Rick volunteered with various organizations including Easter Seals and United Way of the Lehigh Valley and was the business manager for the Miss Pennsylvania Pageant. Above all, his children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter made his life wonderful.

Survivors: son, Glenn, L. Macungie Twp.; daughters, Lori Krasnansky, L. Macungie Twp., Jennifer Ryan and husband, Sean, Gilbert; grandchildren, Kyle Krasnansky, Alyssa Kullman, Jason Krasnansky, Abigail Ryan, Emily Ryan; great granddaughter, Evelyn Krasnansky; nephews, James, David and Aaron, FL; numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by brothers, Bruce and James.

Services: 10:30 AM Monday, April 28th at STEPHENS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 274 N. Krocks Rd. Allentown.
