Robert A. Lewullis May 5, 1944 - July 3, 2024

Robert A. Lewullis, 80, passed from this world on July 3, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Ashland, PA on May 5,1944. He was the son of the late Albert and Mary (Kulikowski) Lewullis.
Bob grew up in Shenandoah with his two siblings, Albert and Ron. He graduated from Shenandoah Catholic High School, where he played basketball for the Mighty Atoms, and baseball for the American Legion. His love of sports started when the neighborhood gang would get together at “Goldies corner” to play baseball. This inspired Bob to play baseball on various teams. Shenandoah is also where he met the love of his life, Mary (Gaborek) Lewullis. They met in high school, fell in love at the Frackville pool, and married on August 6, 1966. They spent 58 magical years together and built a beautiful family with four children, Robert, Karen, Heather, and Matthew
Bob graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. While there, he joined ROTC for two years. Once he graduated, he also joined the Air Force National Guard from 1966 to 1972.
He began his career by working in the men’s department at JCPenney. Following was his job as an accounting clerk at Frankford Arsenal in Philadelphia from 1966 to 1968. He left this job when Mack Trucks hired him in 1968. He worked in several positions at Mack before being promoted to plant controller of the Allentown division. In 1991, he moved to work for the Lehigh Valley International Airport as their accountant. He retired in 2006.
Bob loved his sports. He played softball for the Mack Truck Softball League and was an assistant coach for St. Thomas, More boys’ basketball, along with being an avid golfer. Golfing is what brought many great friends into his life. His greatest golfing accomplishment was hitting a hole-in-one with a pitching wedge on the third hole at Southmoore golf course in Bath, he also loved rooting for his Philadelphia teams; Eagles, Phillies, and Flyers. Bob’s greatest love was his family. For each of the eight grandchildren, he was graced with, his heart and smile grew larger: Robert, Caitlyn, Madison, Ella, Ian, Luke, Dempsey, and Siena. His fondest memories were the annual beach trips to Jersey and Maryland, Christmas Eve dinners, volunteering at the soup kitchen every Thanksgiving, and his absolute favorite memory was the trip to Woodloch Resort to celebrate his 50th wedding anniversary.
We will forever be grateful for all the love and dedication that our father, Robert, has given to our family. His deep faith in God has brought our family, much comfort and strength. We will miss his epic stories and jokes, his wisdom and gentle spirit, while holding the knowledge that we will see him again.
In addition to his wife Mary, Robert is survived by his children, Robert Lewullis (Tammy), Karen Hand (Evan), Heather Arnold (Jason), and Matthew Lewullis (Kimberly), grandchildren Robert Allen, Caitlyn, Madison, Ella, Ian, Luke, Dempsey, and Siena, brother Ronald Lewullis (Regina) and sister-in-law Patricia Lewullis.
