Robert D. Hiestand May 23, 1928 - August 6, 2018

Robert D. “Bob” Hiestand, 90, of Whitehall, passed away Monday, August 6, 2018, in Luther Crest Health Care Center, Allentown. He and his wife, Althea E. (Petrie), celebrated their 69th anniversary. Born in Northampton, he was one of five children of the late Elvin J. and Helen (Berg) Hiestand and was of the United Church of Christ faith. A 1946 graduate of Northampton Area High School, he was employed in the installation division at Western Electric for 30 years before retiring in 1982. An avid Penn State fan, Bob enjoyed woodworking and built a dollhouse for each granddaughter. Survivors: wife; daughter, Donna H. Martin and husband, Donald P., Downingtown; sons, Ronald E. and wife, Marge, Allentown; Kent D., Langhorne; daughter-in-law, Kathy L., Doylestown; 10 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son, Larry R., and a great granddaughter. Services: private. Arrangements entrusted to STEPHENS FUNERAL HOME, INC.
