Robert J. “Bob” Pors January 1, 1955 - March 23, 2024

Robert J. “Bob” Pors, 69, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the St. Luke’s Hospital-Allentown Campus. After a recent diagnosis, he lost the battle against pancreatic cancer. Bob was married to Darlene R. (Cassidy) Pors for almost 47 years. He was born in Allentown to Louis J. and Mary J. (Malatesta) Pors. Bob owned and operated Buckingham Restorations since 1984.

An ardent musician, Bob played guitar in several local bands in the 1970s and 1980s. He had a great love for history and historic preservation, which inspired him to start his own business. He studied 18th-century architecture at the College of William & Mary. Bob and his wife built a Williamsburg reproduction home together, which was featured in several magazines. Bob had a talent for transforming nothing into something special, and his restoration work was celebrated in the Lehigh Valley and Philadelphia, PA. He was known for his kind and gentle soul, and those who knew him will miss him dearly.

Along with his wife, Bob is survived by his brother Louis R. Pors and his wife Ann of Owego, NY, niece Allyson J. Pors-Boitz, nephew Daniel L. Pors, and his beloved Labrador Retrievers Harper, Mia, and Ali.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday, April 13th at the Stephens Funeral Home, Inc. located at 274 North Krocks Road, Allentown. Friends and family may call from 9:30- 10:30 A.M. on Saturday at the funeral home. www.stephensfuneral.com.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in memory of Bob to the Pancreatic Cancer Research Department of Pathology at Johns Hopkins Medicine, 550 North Broadway/Suite 701B, Baltimore, MD 21205, or Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, 633 3rd Avenue, 5th Floor, New York, NY 10017.
