Robert J. Sarmir September 27, 1956 - October 9, 2018

On October 9, 2018, Robert J. “Bob” Sarmir, age 62, of Breinigsville, passed away at Lehigh Valley Hospice Inpatient Unit surrounded by his loving family.  His strength, determination and courage remain a true inspiration to all who knew and loved him.  He was the husband of Elizabeth “Beth” (Fittrer) Sarmir.  The son of the late Joseph and Madeline Sarmir, Bob grew up in Allentown where he and his family were owners of Green Pine Inn/Caseys Bar and Nightclub.  Bob spent 40 years working as Operations Manager at Greentree Nurseries.  He was very proud of his career beautifying and caring for the Earth.  Bob will always be remembered for his generous spirit and true desire to help others.  An avid sports enthusiast, Bob was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan whose favorite place in the world was St. Maarten.  Survivors: Bob will be deeply missed by his adoring wife, Beth, and beloved daughters, Lindsay Cuvo (husband Chad) of Pickerington OH and Amie Gebhardt (husband William) of Harleysville PA and grandchildren, Logan and Zoe Cuvo, the joy of his life.  Bob felt extremely blessed to be a step-father as well to Amber (Wells) Hearn (husband Brandon) of Wyncote PA and Britani Wells (fiancé Scott Boyer) of Macungie PA.  Bob had a special relationship with his five siblings: brothers, Joseph Sarmir (Carol), Edward Sarmir (Judy Levit) and Richard Sarmir (Janine), and sisters, Jane Zimmerman (Paul) and Michelle Winklespect (Robert).  He is also survived by his caring mother-in-law, Vera Fittrer, brother-in-law, Robert Fittrer (Jermel), and nieces and nephews.  Services: Bob attended First Presbyterian Church of Allentown, 3231 W. Tilghman St., where a Celebration of Life will be held in the sanctuary on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at 10:00 AM, led by the Rev. Dr. Jack Haberer.  Arrangements entrusted to STEPHENS FUNERAL HOME, INC.  Contributions: Bob and his family are eternally grateful to Dr. Sree Chalasani and the staff of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Basking Ridge NJ as well as the Clinical Trial Teams at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York City.  It is requested that any contributions be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Immunotherapy Research or Lehigh Valley Hospice, Attention Inpatient Unit.
