Robert Joseph Frees March 4, 1949 - February 2, 2023

Robert Joseph “Bob” Frees, 73, of Orefield, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2023, in L.V. Hospital – Cedar Crest Blvd. He was the husband of Mollie E. (Caboy) Frees. They would have celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary in June 2023. Born in Jersey City, NJ, he was a son of the late William and Mary (Anderson) Frees. Bob was a graduate of St. Peter’s Preparatory School in NJ and received his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the NJ Institute of Technology. He began his career with Public Service Electric & Gas in Newark, NJ then worked for Central Vermont Electric & Gas in Rutland, VT. He was then employed by Air Products as Director of Energy from 1981 until his retirement in 2008. Bob was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church in Orefield and was a volunteer with Meals-On-Wheels for 7 years. Bob loved to travel and he and his wife enjoyed 32 cruises visiting ports around the world.  Also, he was an avid follower of politics and enjoyed discussions on world events.  But the real joy of his life was his five grandchildren and spending time with them at their beach house in Bethany Beach, Delaware.

Survivors: Wife, Mollie; Son: Robert M. Frees and his wife Tiffany A. of Millstadt, IL and their children Madison and Garrett; Daughter: Michelle L. Cilmi and her husband Michael T. of Alburtis and their children Gabriella, Gracie-Marie and Giulia; Sister: Barbara Lipari and her husband Joseph of Toms River, NJ. Bob was predeceased by his brother William Frees.

Service: There will be a visitation from noon to 1:00 pm with a Mass to follow at 1 pm Tuesday, at St. Joseph the Worker, 1879 Applewood Drive, Orefield 18069. Arrangements by Stephens Funeral Home, Inc. www.stephensfuneral.com.
