Segundo “Johnny” Lopez June 26, 1950 - June 20, 2024

Segundo “Johnny” Lopez, 73, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2024, in his residence in Allentown surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Ecuador in 1950, he was the son of the late Enrique and Lucila (Romero) Lopez. He was the husband of Blanca (Villacis) Lopez, with whom he shared 42 years of marriage with. Johnny was a member at Rivers of Life Church, Allentown, PA.

In addition to his wife Blanca, Johnny is survived by his children, Karina Gutierrez (Alfred) Tanya Pozo (Jorge), Johnny Lopez (Yari), Bianca Suriel (Carlos), grandchildren Naomi Ruth, Kinsley, Elijah, Elaya, Mateo, and Mia.

Johnny was a great athlete. He became a luchador in Ecuador in his late teens into his 20’s. He also sang live on radio and tv shows
mostly as a soloist.

He also served in the Ecuadorian Military for a few years. Johnny moved to the US in the late 70’s. He married Blanca in ’82. He was a machine operator in a factory in Brooklyn for close to 14 yrs. His favorite hobby was playing Soccer and was part of various soccer clubs and leagues around NYC.

Johnny came to Christ in the fall of ’91, where he was radically transformed, never looking back to his old life. He took his gift of singing and gave it God until his last days as a Worshipper. Johnny went on to become a prison minister for 14 yrs, served as a deacon his local church, and also serve on various mission trips throughout his life. Although he battled cancer for 27 yrs, it never became his disability or identity. He served and glorified God in every relationship he has and all he did until his last breath.

Services will be held Sunday June 23, 2024, at Rivers of Life Seibert Church, 617 N 10th St, Allentown, PA 18102 at 6:30 PM. A viewing will be held from 5:00-6:30 PM prior to the service. Stephens Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
