Sharon L. “Sherry” Gallagher November 19, 1950 - April 3, 2026

Sharon L. “Sherry” (Heist) Gallagher, 75, of Breinigsville, passed away Friday, April 3, 2026, at Mosser Nursing Home, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Thomas F. Gallagher, to whom she was married 57 years. Born in Allentown, November 19, 1950, Sherry was the daughter of the late William J. Heist, Sr. and Margaret A. (Schmidt) Heist. She was a secretary at PPL Electric Utilities, Allentown for over 30 years before retiring. She organized and ran the Kelly Gallagher Memorial Golf Tournament for 21 years, benefiting local children and their families suffering from cancer. Sherry and Tom were the proud Allentown St. Patrick’s Day King and Queen in 2008. Sherry was a member of the Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena, where she was a lector, Eucharistic Minister and was on the RCIA committee.

Survivors: In addition to her loving husband, Tom; son, Scott Gallagher and his wife, Heather; grandsons, Brady Gallagher and his wife, Hannah, Kevin Gallagher and his wife, Maria; one great grandson due in July; brother, Michael Heist; sister, Kathleen Neiswender; sisters and brothers-in-law, Susan Stavros, Mary Shore and her husband, Dr. Stephen Shore, Gerald Gallagher and his wife, Ann, David Sabo; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews. Sherry was predeceased by her daughter, Kelly Gallagher and brother, William J. Heist, Jr.

Service: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 11, 2026, in the Cathedral, 1825 W. Turner Street, Allentown. Family and friends may pay their respects from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 10, 2026, in the Heintzelman-Stephens Funeral Home, P.C., 274 N. Krocks Road Allentown. Interment will follow the service at Resurrection Cemetery, Allentown. Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at www.heintzelmanstephens.com.
