Thomas G. Khoury May 20, 1946 - August 19, 2024

Thomas G. Khoury, 78, of Bethlehem, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024.  Tom was a beloved father to Kim and Jenn, grandfather, and partner to Donna.  Born in Pittsburgh and raised in Allentown, Tom was a lifelong resident of Pennsylvania, splitting his love for both the Steelers and Eagles.  He was the son of the late George S. Khoury and Dorothy Khoury.

President of Action Machinery, Tom was a successful business owner in the Lehigh Valley for more than 50 years.  Tom became President of Action in 1976, succeeding his late father George Khoury who founded the business in 1965.  Action was more than a job for Tom – the company, its people, and the partners he worked with across the industry were like family to him.  Tom was an active member of the Machinery Dealers National Association for many years.

Tom was an avid and passionate outdoorsman.  Some of Tom’s happiest moments were on a lake or in the woods, hiking and enjoying nature.  He spent many weekends at his log cabin in Dingmans Ferry, feeding the deer, bears and chipmunks from his back yard.  He was a big-game hunter and fisherman, making multiple trips to Canada and Africa, and especially enjoyed hiking in Pennsylvania and fishing in Key West, Florida.  Tom loved traveling, going to the beach, eating Maryland’s spicy crabs and seeing Broadway musicals – particularly Jersey Boys, which could often be heard on repeat while riding in the car with him.

Tom was a Mason and member of the Royal Arch Chapter No. 203 of Pennsylvania for 50 years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Allentown and received his bachelor’s degree in education from Kutztown University.

Tom is survived by his daughters Jennifer Khoury Newcomb and her husband Andrew and Kimberly Khoury Adams and her husband Richard; granddaughters Simone and Elle Newcomb; partner of 30 years Donnalyn Gerhart; and brother James Khoury. Tom was predeceased by his brother George Khoury.

A Celebration of Tom’s life will be held in the future. Gifts in Tom’s memory can be made to the Pennsylvania Wildlands Conservancy, 3701 Orchid Place, Emmaus, PA 18049 or online at www.wildlandspa.org.
