Thomas J. Creeden December 10, 1956 - May 13, 2024
Thomas J. Creeden, 67, of Emmaus, passed away on May 13, 2024 quietly at his home. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Karen and three children Trevor (Karissa), Ryan (Sheryl) & Jessica (Tyler). He was “Pop-Pop” to seven grandchildren, Corinne, Sydney, Zachary, Cole, Miriam, Micah & Gabriel. He is also survived by two brothers William and Kevin Creeden and their families. He is predeceased by his parents and brother Robert Creeden.
Tom was born December 10, 1956 in Bristol, Pennsylvania. He was raised in Levittown, Pennsylvania, the youngest son of the late Robert & Esther Creeden. He graduated from Bishop Egan High School and was recruited to play football at West Virginia University. He played as an offensive lineman for the Mountaineers from 1974-1979 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education. Tom met his wife Karen Wall while they were students at WVU. Tom went on to obtain his Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Lehigh University and his Doctorate Degree from Walden University. Tom was a respected and committed educator & coach. He was a strong advocate for his students & teachers and was well regarded by his colleagues. Tom was a special education teacher in the Nazareth school district for eight years. He served as an Assistant Principal at Upper Perkiomen High School (7 years) and at Perkiomen Valley High School (5 years). Tom was the Principal at Pennridge High School for 15 years prior to his retirement in 2014. In retirement, Tom continued to follow Philadelphia sports. He was a lifelong fan of the Phillies and Eagles. He enjoyed yearly trips to Morgantown, West Virginia with his family to attend a WVU football game and to catch up with former teammates. Tom was a committed follower of Jesus Christ and served faithfully in his local church. He was a supportive Pop-Pop and could often be found on the sidelines or in the audience, encouraging one of his grandchildren. In recent years, Tom enjoyed spending the winter months with Karen on the Gulf Coast of Florida.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 22 from 5-7pm and on Thursday, May 23rd from 3:30-4:30 pm followed by a Memorial Service at 4:30pm. Visitation and Memorial Service will be conducted at Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church, 1151 S. Cedar Crest Blvd. Allentown, PA 18103.
