William Graver -
William “Bill” Graver, 78, of Arlington, Virginia, passed away in August, leaving behind a life filled with passion and dedication. Born and raised in Allentown, he was a proud graduate of William Allen High School and Muhlenberg College. Bill served his country as a medic and intelligence staff sergeant in the Army reserve. His intellectual curiosity led him to a 55-year career as a physicist, focused on laser light and optics. He earned Master’s and Doctorate degrees from American and Georgetown universities. Outside of his professional life, Bill was a dedicated antique toy collector, a pursuit that brought him joy and connection through his store and participation in toy shows across the country. Bill enjoyed music, playing the trumpet and singing in the church choir. He loved traveling and generously shared his knowledge and passion for science by volunteering for many years as a Northern VA Science Fair judge.
Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Joan Graver, and his parents, Irwin and Dorothy Graver. He is survived by his son, John, daughter, Karen, grandsons, Jake and Luke, and granddaughter, Joelene, who will cherish his memory.
