William J. Engle October 16, 1924 - March 25, 2018

William J. Engle, 93, of Allentown, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018, at Luther Crest.  He was the husband of the late Mary M. (Walaconis) Engle and the late Elizabeth M. (Borneman) Engle.  Born in Shenandoah, he was a son of the late Luther L. and Mary M. (Schappell) Engle.  A Navy veteran of World War II, he received his Master’s degree from Bucknell University.  Prior to retiring in 1989, William was employed by the City of Allentown as its water resource manager and was previously the chief of utilities for all United States Air Force bases.  Survivors: sons, Matthew L. and wife, Denice, Allentown, William J. and wife, Priscilla, Amberson; grandchildren, Alexander, Derrick, Elaine, Ellen; great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by daughter, Gail, and brother, James.  Services: 10 AM Friday, graveside, Grandview Cemetery, 2735 Walbert Ave.  Arrangements entrusted to STEPHENS FUNERAL HOME, INC.  Contributions: in lieu of flowers, to Disabled Veterans.
